Our Story

Building financial confidence in Bristol since 2018

How We Started

frosty-learning began in a community centre in Easton. Our founder, having worked in retail banking for fifteen years, noticed the same pattern repeatedly: intelligent, capable people making financial decisions based on incomplete information or outright misconceptions.

The gap wasn't intelligence — it was education. Schools don't teach personal finance in any meaningful way. Parents pass down habits, both good and bad. And the financial industry often benefits from customer confusion.

That first class in 2018 had eight participants and a whiteboard. Today, we've taught over 2,400 Bristol residents, expanded to dedicated premises in Queen Square, and built a team of instructors who share our passion for accessible financial education.

What We Believe

Clarity Over Complexity

Financial jargon serves the industry, not the individual. We translate complex concepts into plain language. If we can't explain something simply, we haven't understood it well enough ourselves.

Progress Over Perfection

Small improvements compound over time. We'd rather you make one sustainable change than attempt a complete financial overhaul that collapses after three weeks. Consistency beats intensity.

Community Over Competition

Learning alongside others normalises financial struggles and celebrates wins. Our classes deliberately mix ages, backgrounds, and income levels. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn.

Honesty Always

We don't sell financial products. We have no commission incentives. Our only interest is helping you make informed decisions. Sometimes that means telling you things you'd rather not hear.

Our Teaching Approach

Small Classes

Maximum 12 participants per session. Everyone gets heard, everyone gets their questions answered. No hiding at the back.

Real Examples

We work with actual bank statements, real pension documents, genuine scenarios. Theory without application doesn't stick.

Safe Space

Financial shame is real and counterproductive. Our classrooms are judgement-free zones. Whatever your situation, you're welcome here.

Actionable Outcomes

Every session ends with specific actions to take. We're not interested in passive learning. You should leave each class with something to implement.
